I have 7 years experience in the games industry creating environments, props, and the occasional characters for stylised games. A productive and proactive team member, I am comfortable throughout the production pipeline and meet tasks with ambition.
I have worked with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high quality game assets with a focus on player agency and memorable experiences. My skills are in tackling the realisation of art direction not just with 3D modelling, but material design and efficient workflows. One size rarely fits all; when seeking to consolidate resources on a project, the needs of the particular project must be considered first and foremost.
I am once again looking for a new and exciting project, with a team that shares my love for exciting and memorable gaming experiences.
• Delivered high quality and optimised meshes and textures for environments and props.
• Led in the development and integration of new workflows designed to increase asset production in-spite of a small team-size. With collaboration across the team, I ensured the new workflows were suited to each discipline's needs and maintained an optimised output in-engine.
• Designed and maintained master materials to meet art direction and run-time targets using Unreal Engine’s material graph and Unity’s shader graph technologies.
• Taking levels from block-out to fully dressed and lit. Through this process I liaised with the Design team to ensure dressing and lighting supported level goals and assisted the player
• Self-management of tasks and bugs in JIRA, when required.
• Assisted in the on-boarding and mentoring of junior artists.
• Worked with external clients to develop assets within brand guidelines.
Working under industry mentors in a simulated studio environment to create rapid prototypes and vertical slices in small teams. Due to class demographics, I was often the sole artist on a project, providing me with a diverse experience in a range of applications.
Projects include:
• Midnight Surfer; a co-op racing racing game set in the Judge Dredd IP (This project was mentored by Zoltan Fejes but not affiliated with Rebellion).
• The scale of this project required many of the artists on the course, rather than myself alone. I developed much of the buildings of Mega City One, drawing on inspiration from throughout the Judge Dredd comics to define shape language and architecture.
• Guzzlesaurus's Culinary Capers: a 2D cooking aid game aimed at helping parents teach young children simple recipes.
